The military theme is a versatile one when it comes to fashion, and it can evoke many different eras and countries. The army theme in particular has enjoyed great popularity in recent years- but I also appreciate fashion inspired by less conspicuous areas of the military. Today I am introducing a very different look to my usually-’40s inspired outfits: this look is drawn from military winter camouflage, and is also a far cry from the current trends of olive drab utility jackets and gold-tone chevron jewellery!
Forever New sweater / Alexander McQueen coat / MANTU camouflage pants / Timberland black boots / The Cambridge Satchel Company leather handbag / Matthew Williamson clip earrings / Crystal jewelry / Eugenia Kim black hat / Rayban aviator sunglasses / Elizabeth Arden lipstick
The extraordinary winter camo pants are the foundation of this outfit, and they set the tone perfectly. A classy, feminine feel is brought by the fine-knit turtleneck and smart double-breasted Alexander McQueen coat, which also adhere to the winter-white colour palette. Black accents (like the heeled combat-style boots, fur hat, and striking crystal jewellery) ramp up the drama of this look; a visual drama that is reflected in many a snowy landscape in wintertime. The addition of a dark blue satchel and red lipstick add a shot of colour and further contrast, and ensure that this outfit is one of not only utility, but also style. Like it or not, winter is here- and what better way to acknowledge it than by an ensemble like this one?
