It’s actually feeling relatively spring-like at the moment in central Ontario– but it’s still around -10 Celsius. I wrote relatively, remember! That said, I’ve given up hope for an early spring in 2015 and I’m focused on learning how to tolerate the cold. It is in that spirit of stoic resignation that I present my latest Polyvore set: a very wintery, yet I think very comforting, outfit.
River Island blouse / Trench coat / MARC BY MARC JACOBS straight leg pants/ Zara short boots / The Cambridge Satchel Company leather handbag / Carolee silver earrings / Crystal jewelry / ASOS scarve / Charlotte Tilbury lipstick
With this look, I tried to combine all the best things of winter: for example, an on-trend white coat that contrasts starkly with the black boots and satchel; and intricate crystal jewellery that reminds me of snowflakes glistening in the sun. The winter camouflage scarf is perhaps the defining feature of this outfit, however. It makes a bold statement, and adds a bit of fun to the businesslike separates and the formal jewellery. Plus, it’s obviously very appropriate for winter wear! With an outfit like this one, I think that I’ll be able to enjoy the positives of wintertime and maybe, just maybe, hold out until spring!
